Martin Welch’s career began as an art assistant working for Condé Nast in the art department at British Vogue, then under the editorship of the late Beatrix ‘Bea’ Miller. His first published work appeared on their ‘Shophound’ shopping pages. Since then Welch has worked as a freelance art director as well as being an illustrator. Editorial commissions include work for Vogue, Tatler, and House & Garden. Book projects include 'Vogue Teenage Beauty' by Bronwen Meredith (Condé Nast), 'Put On Your Pearls Girl's!' by Lulu Guinness (Rizzoli NYC) and the re-issue of 'One Special Summer' by Jacqueline & Lee Bouvier (Rizzoli NYC).
